The parish church of St. Margaretha was built in 1707 and consecrated in 1714. It was originally a religious church of the Teutonic Order, which was based in Mülheim from 1266 to 1809.

The church forms a late Baroque unit with the Deutschordens-Kommende Mülheim, whose castle was built around 1682.

The north and south portals are richly decorated and the following can be read in Latin under the coat of arms: "Wilhelm, Baron von Plettenberg zu Lenhausen, Knight of the Teutonic Order, District Commander of the Bailiwick of Westfalen, Commander in Mülheim and of St. George in Münster, built this building from the ground up in 1707."

Inside the church, the strange-looking altars are striking. They are neoclassical and replaced the original baroque altars in the 1870s. Nevertheless, they have since acquired an art-historical value.

St. Margaret, the patron saint of the church and parish, stands above the tabernacle. The apostles Peter and Paul stand to the side. Christ is enthroned above everything. The left side altar is dedicated to the Mother of God, the right one to St. Joseph. St. Lucy and St. Agatha are also depicted on the altar of the Virgin Mary, while St. Francis and St. Anthony of Padua are depicted on the altar of St. Joseph.

The two side altars each cover a baroque choir stall from 1728.

The large cross above the choir dates from 1919 and was purchased on the occasion of the parish mission at that time. A baroque Madonna from around 1700 hangs at the back.

The Stations of the Cross from 1730 come from southern Germany and were acquired in 1960. The confessionals date from the period 1714-1720.

In the baptistery "under the tower" there is a Pieta from around 1850.

The pulpit, built in 1725, is from the former Baroque ensemble. On the sounding board is St. George, patron saint of the Teutonic Knights and - still today - of the Sichtigvor shooting fraternity. On the sides are the four evangelists with their symbols (man with wings, lion, bull and eagle).

Other sculptures in the nave are St. Liborius, the patron saint of the Archbishopric of Paderborn, and St. Anthony of Padua.

One of the most valuable elements of the parish church is the organ with around 1500 pipes. It was built around 1720, probably by the master organ builder Johann Bernhard Klausing from Herford.
