The Totenhagen, which was laid out in 1588, is the oldest still existing
cemetery in the town of Korbach. With its completion, the
cemeteries around the parish churches of St. Kilian (Altstadt) and St. Nikolai
(new town) were abandoned. The oldest surviving gravestones date from the early
