Largest preserved defense tower of the inner city wall. Beautiful panoramic view over the Altstadt as far as the Eisenberg.
You can obtain the key for the ascent from the Korbach Information Office against a deposit.
The Tylen Tower was built around 1325 and named after the von Tylen family who lived here. Formerly part of the town fortifications, the lowest floor was still used as a dungeon in the 18th century.
The viewing platform at a height of 25 m offers a beautiful panoramic view over Korbach's old town and across to the Eisenberg, Germany's largest historical gold deposit.
You can get the key to the ascent for a deposit at the Korbach Information Office, Prof.-Bier-Str. 15 (pedestrian zone, Mon-Fri 10-18, Sat 10-13).
