The multi-award-winning museum is located in the heart of Korbach's Altstadt. Housed in an ensemble of historic buildings and modern architecture, the museum impresses with its didactic and visitor-friendly concept. The 1000-year history of the town, the 250 million-year-old fossils from the Korbach fissure and the evidence of gold mining on the Eisenberg are presented in an experience-oriented way.
Admission to the museum also entitles you to visit the GeoFoyer Kalkturm at the Korbach fissure.
Regular guided tours of the museum:
April - October: every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, 2:30 pm
November - March: every 2nd Saturday of the month, 2:30 pm
