Information

Directions

From the parking lot on Strandweg Amecke (subject to charge), first return to Amecker Straße and then diagonally opposite onto Höpkeweg. The Am3 and Am4 hiking trails run alongside the fire station parking lot, which you follow until shortly before Henninghausen. Now turn left onto the unmarked field path, which takes you into the Allendorf fields. Here you turn left again, now with the Al1 markings and the blue Höhenflug sign. These hiking signs will take you to the Steinert nature reserve, which is home to Wallies black-necked goats from May to October. If you want to reach the cross with its great views, turn right through the double gate. Back again, a path leads around the mountain until it meets a road. Turn right here briefly, then left again onto the road to Mühlenfeld. This takes you back along the golf course to Schloss Haus Amecke. Follow the familiar path back to the parking lot on Strandweg.

Safty guidelines

If you are not so good on foot, instead of taking the path to Steinert, you can simply walk straight down the tarred road to Allendorf. Then simply turn left into the road to Mühlenfeld.

Author Tip

There are several places to stop for refreshments in Amecke.
