The Goldspur Eisenberg is more than just an educational trail. It impressively documents the traces of historical mining at Germany's richest gold deposit.
The Gold Trail is divided into two independent sections that can be hiked separately. The 2nd section runs south-east on the Eisenberg and leads past the visitor mine of the Unteren-Tiefen-Tal-Stollen. It can be walked over a period of approx. 2-3 hours. As this trail also includes steep sections through the forest, sturdy footwear is required!
Circular trail 2 with 6 stations (A to F), 6 information boards, 5 km long, leads through the eastern Eisenberg and over its heights with castle complex and observation tower. This trail is marked as a themed trail on the supra-regional "Sauerland-Höhenflug" hiking trail.
