Your hiking sign is AT. From the Schützenhalle Westenfeld starting point, you walk up the Bainkhauser Weg to the cross, with the first magnificent view. The trail then descends into the Mettmecke valley and climbs steadily uphill to the Hubertushöhe. Here it is worth taking a short detour to the left to the "Hubertuspöstchen", a wayside shrine to St. Hubertus first erected in the 17th century. Continue along a beautiful forest path to the Hellefeld Höhe. Shortly before reaching the summit book, another magnificent view awaits you. Your next stage destination is Herblinghausen, a tiny village on the outskirts of Sundern. Here you cross the country road and walk past a riding stable alongside meadows and pastures. At a mighty oak tree, turn right up to Odin, a mountain ridge with a beautiful nature reserve. Once you arrive at a small road, it is worth taking another small detour to the left and you will find yourself in front of the "white wall in Sauerland", also a nature reserve. So you don't necessarily need to go to Rügen to see a limestone cliff! Continue through the beautiful Odin coppice forest and you will soon reach the foot of the Kehlberg, which offers a beautiful view of Hellefeld. The next village you reach, which always offers beautiful views, is Altenhellefeld. Historic half-timbered buildings and old quarrystone farmsteads will delight hikers. You now hike through the Wacholderheide nature reserve up to the large sunny section. At the end of the tall spruce trees, turn left at an acute angle down into the Linnepe valley. Cross the stream and walk up to the village of Meinkenbracht, which lies on a high plateau. From here you have to follow the country road for about 1 km before the path turns right along the Romecke into the valley. From here, the trail climbs up to the highest point of the hike - the Dümberg. You will be rewarded at the end of the ridge with the most spectacular view of the tour. The view stretches far into the countryside - as far as the power stations near Hamm-Uentrop. The path now leads downhill to the village of Weninghausen. One last mountain, the Kahlenberg with its oak coppice forest, lies ahead of you before you reach the starting point of the tour, Westenfeld.
