The trail starts in the center of the village on the church square to Hotel Kleins Wiese. The route continues towards the Altes Forsthaus, on to the Koppenhütte, via Altenilper Straße and Mothemeke back to the church square.

Directions
The trail begins in the town center on the church square. From here, follow the BF2 markings to the town chapel, then continue in the direction of the "VDK-Hotel" and Hotel Kleins Wiese. Leave the BF2 here and follow the BF1 hiking trail. To do this, turn left at Hotel Kleins Wiese, cross the L776 and walk towards Altes Forsthaus. On the way, you will pass the Schützenkreuz am Buchhagen, which towers high above Bad Fredeburg in the midst of beautiful Buchenwald forests. The Buchhagen chapel is hidden slightly below. If you like, you can venture down via the Sauerland-Höhenflug, but be careful: the path is steep and not cleared! Instead, the Buchhagen Chapel offers a quiet and contemplative place.From the Schützenkreuz, continue to the Alter Forsthaus. Turn left here and follow the BF1 trail along the Koppenhütte, via Altenilper Straße and Mathemeke back to the church square.
Equipment
Take a cell phone with you for safety, especially on winter hikes. Good footwear and of course warm clothing should be a matter of course.

Bad Fredeburg can be reached from Meschede (S90), Schmallenberg (S90), Eslohe (bus 369), Freienohl (bus 367) and Oberhenneborn (bus 465).
Getting there
From Meschede via the B 55 to Bremke. Turn left here and follow the B 511 to Bad Fredeburg. From Schmallenberg via the B 236 to Gleidorf and then continue on the B 511.

At Schützenplatz, Kurhaus or at the school center.
