Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde's municipal area includes the districts of Nachrodt, Einsal, Opperhusen, Wiblingwerde, Brenscheid, Eilerde, Rennerde, Veserde and other hamlets. While Nachrodt, Einsal and Opperhusen are located in the Lenne valley, which is bordered by high mountains, the other districts are spread out on the Wiblingwerde plateau.
The state-approved resort of Wiblingwerde became famous when it was named a Gold Village in the state competition "Our village should become more beautiful" in 1985. Significant cultural monuments include the Brenscheid mills (corn and Ölmühle), the granaries on the schoolyard in Wiblingwerde and the Grenningloh estate, the Romanesque village church of Wiblingwerde, the Heimatstube at the Wiblingwerde elementary school and the Johannisborn, a place of worship with traces dating back to Germanic times. It will be eventful!
In Nachrodt there are the Haus Nachrodt and Dümpel farm monuments, which can be visited by appointment. The imposing rock formation "Klara's Höhe" can be climbed via a hiking trail. From the summit, you have a wonderful view of Nachrodt and the Lenne valley. In Finkingsen, a hamlet that belongs to the Einsal district, there is an ancient oak tree that is often referred to as the "witches' oak". Here you have the opportunity to relax on a hike in the tranquillity of the surroundings. In addition to the eight SGV quality hiking trails that extend across the entire municipal area, 32 marked local circular hiking trails on the Wiblingwerde heights invite hikers to take a trip into nature. Excitement and adventure are guaranteed!
