The cellar was built in 1853 to cool beer brewed in Reiste. However, it was not used for this purpose even after 22 years in 1875 and stood empty. But in the 2nd World War it served as an air-raid shelter.Finally, the historic vaulted cellar found its way into the hands of the Reiste Tourist Association, which takes care of its maintenance. It is possible to visit the historical cellar and we can only recommend it. It offers not only in hot summer days the possibility to cool down a bit. The visit is possible on request at the SGV, department Reiste.
