A bit of history:

Glindfeld Monastery, built in 1298, initially housed the Augustinian nuns from Küstelberg, who lived there until 1499. After that, the monastery was transferred to the Kreuzherren-Stift, whose monks led the monastery to its economic and cultural prosperity and thus had an outstanding influence on the life of the entire region around Medebach, especially during the conflicts in the 30-year war with the Protestant Waldeck. As early as 1804, the monastery was dissolved, the church demolished and the estate sold.

Today, the entire complex is privately owned. About once a month, classical music events are presented by the Medebach Cultural Ring. On the last weekend in October, the November Dreams with a variety of exhibitors of handicrafts and culinary delicacies set the mood for winter and the Christmas season.
