The interactive hands-on exhibition on the topics of Arnsberg Forest Nature Park, Möhne Dam and Water and Forest, invites young and old to discover nature with all their senses. The experience space landscape informs about history, geology and ecology of the landscapes of the nature park. Especially the history, task and function of the Möhne Dam is explained informatively with films and models.
Water experience area
In the water experience area we vividly show the path of water from drinking water supply to wastewater treatment. The interactive water column illustrates the daily water consumption. We also provide information about the global water situation. At our consumption counter, everyone can determine their own virtual water consumption.
Water birds of the Möhnesee
The new exhibition unit "Water birds of the Möhnesee" clearly shows the Möhnesee as a habitat for water birds. Visitors can test their knowledge in a quiz, make a food web and learn about the migratory behavior of the birds. In addition, by means of augmented reality, small film clips on flight behavior, among other things, can be viewed or a count of the waterfowl can be simulated. The topic of climate change and its effects on the water supply is also addressed.
Erlebnisraum Wald
In the forest experience room, visitors can experience the Arnsberg forest and the historical development of its use during a virtual flight. The new forest climate column illustrates the importance of the forest for our climate. The tactile sensory station is especially suitable for blind and visually impaired people.
A Liz visit is an experience for young explorers and experienced nature lovers. An annually changing program of events allows for diverse explorations in the nature park and the bookable events a nature experience for all ages. Take a look!
