As early as 1200 the old knight's seat in Ostwig is mentioned in a document of the Meschede monastery as a feudal estate.
In 1299, Count Ludwig von Arnsberg exchanged the Gevelinghausen manor with the abbess of Meschede Abbey for the neighboring Ostwig manor. The house was extended to a two-storey manor house in 1670.
The house is inhabited and is privately owned. A visit is therefore not possible.
