The oldest building in Lippetal is the Catholic parish church of St. Stephanus.
This is a two-bay hall building, which was built around the middle of the 13th century in Romanesque style. The strong west tower with numerous round arch openings dates back to the 12th century.
In the 18th century, the church received a baroque helmet, which is conspicuous for this area. Inside, a splendidly carved high altar from the 17th century, a carved pulpit and side altars stand out. The latter come from the Soest Dominican monastery. The church is built in the center of the old village of Oestinghausen. The church square is still surrounded by numerous half-timbered houses and shows the historical development of this area. The narrow alleys in the vicinity of the church invite you to take a leisurely stroll.
