Wire roll Kayser Up the Hecking

Formerly one of 12 wire reels in the Springer Bach valley and today part of the wire reel route in Altena-Evingsen.

Single-story building made of quarry stone masonry with a pantiled gable roof, already before 1738 as a wire reel later as a thimble mill, last used for the production of wire drawing tools (drawing dies). The former use is reminded by the still existing iron water wheel on the right front side of the building, the interior furnishings are no longer present. From 1996, the restoration was carried out and since 2001, the listed building with the newly built outbuilding has been used as a restaurant. About 200 m away is the small museum of the wire reel "Am Hurk".
