Located between the Kolk and the Rosenau, the Hof Haulle farm has been here for over 600 years. Farmsteads like this were not uncommon in Sassendorf, but of the numerous farmsteads, only the Hof Haulle has been preserved. It has also been expertly restored so that it can still be used today.
The Haullen-Hof was known to the people of Sassendorf in the 15th-17th centuries as the "Großer Mariengarten zu Sassendorf", which has been passed down through written sources in the wake of warlike consequences during the Soest Feud, the Thirty Years' War and the Seven Years' War. It is nothing short of a miracle that the "Mariengarten" defied the attacks of war and strokes of fate and survived the centuries in good condition.
The former "Mariengarten", now the Hof Haulle farm, became the home of the vom Dahll family, who were members of the Erbsälzer family. Over time, the property was leased to other families who also used the farm commercially. In the middle of the 19th century, the tenancy was abolished and the tenants were able to buy the land themselves and become owners. In the 20th century, the Kühle-Haulle family applied for the official name "Haulle", which has been retained to this day.
Since 2012, the old farm has been home to the "Kulturscheune" and since 2015, the farm building has served as an exhibition hall for the "Westfalen Salzwelten" adventure museum. The administrative office of the Tagungs- und Kongresszentrum GmbH is also located on the farm. For more information, please call 02921-9433420!
