The "Cologne" Wendener Land is located in the middle of the Ebbegebirge. Here you will find a typical cultural landscape that has been created by the increasing use of natural resources for the iron producing and processing industry since the 18th century. The intensive forestry of the past and present, the work of the carters, charcoal burners and miners shaped the appearance of this charming landscape. In the Ebbegebirge, this landscape is not only protected, but here you can actively experience the interaction between man and nature for yourself.

The cultural and natural history museum hiking trail, which starts at the Wendener Hütte, invites you on a two-hour adventure hike that not only gets your legs moving: landmarks tell hikers that they are moving through an old industrial landscape - go in search of clues.

The museum trail is always accessible. Guided hikes can also be booked on request.
