Villa Wippermann

Museum/Exhibition

#deinsauerland / Neusta POIs / Villa Wippermann

Villa Wippermann was built in 1892 and was a typical upper middle-class villa of the time.
After extensive renovation as part of the Regionale 2013, it now houses the regional museum Oben an der Volme.

The museum of local history has found its home on the upper floor - lovingly looked after by the Halver local history association. In addition to permanent installations, such as a school class from 1900 and a small kitchen, changing exhibitions on the history of the town, agriculture/economy, technology and people take place here.

Special exhibitions of an artistic, craft or documentary nature are regularly held on the first floor - a platform for local artists, associations and schools. Lectures, guided tours, concerts and readings accompanying the exhibitions offer varied art and cultural experiences for all citizens of the region. The large hall can accommodate up to 50 visitors. Wedding ceremonies also take place here.

The adjoining park is beautifully designed and invites you to linger.
