Rock 'n Rose, that could also be the name of this beautiful themed hiking trail. Just a stone's throw separates the two golden villages of Assinghausen and Bruchhausen. And both are characterized by their natural beauty. But on this hike, you also have both the Bruchhauser Steine and the Strüker Stein in view. Since 2019, you can also enjoy the "Rose Rosary" in the Küsterland park in Assinghausen. The chapel, Lourdes grotto and a very special rose park landscape are well worth seeing.
From the Grimmedenkmal monument in Assinghausen, follow the Rosenring sign along Grimmestraße in the direction of Olsberg uphill to the "Vockelied" road with wonderful views. The path leads over a plateau in the direction of Bruchhausen. With a view of the Bruchhauser Steine, the trail now crosses the "Wegebreite" hiking cross. Many wild roses line the edge of the path here. Don't miss the small meadow path that leads past the Aussiedlerhof farm into the village center of Bruchhausen. The Gutscafé and the rose garden at Bruchhausen Castle invite you to take a relaxing break and enjoy a snack. In the direction of the village center, you come to the Bruchhasuen hiking sign and thus to the start and end point. From the Bruchhausen hiking signpost, follow the Rosenring sign and walk to the street "Am kleinen Berg".Before the 2nd house, the trail continues uphill, with wonderful views of the Bruchhauser Steine, to the "Eichen Knäppchen" and "Auf der Heu" hiking crosses. You can enjoy a 360° panorama from this plateau. A winding forest path now takes you past a small stream until you can see both the "Bruchhauser Steine" and the "Strüker Stein", the little brother of the 4 rock giants. The Rosenring now leads downhill via the traditional Way of the Cross to the Küsterlandkapelle. Here you reach the Küsterland, a park with special planting. The rose naturally dominates here once again. The rose rosary laid out in 2019 is unique in its design and allows hikers to pause for a moment in this special park. The Lourdes grotto and the small chapel are also very special.Between the frog fountain and the chapel, you then climb up to a ridge. The path on the right leads you towards the church, along the Brunnenweg. On the stairs behind the church you descend to the "Reisen-Speicher", Olsberg's oldest building dating from 1556. Here you will also find the "Romantikgarten" and not far away the "Klostergärtchen", as well as the Grimmedenkmal below the "Zur Höhe" inn. (The hiking trail can be started in Bruchhausen as well as in Assinghausen).
